Lee Kum Kee Hong Kong Hoisin Sauce

Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce is authentic and sweet, made from spices, ground soybeans and sweet potatoes. Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Fermented Soybean Paste (Water, Salt, Soybeans, Wheat Flour)
  • Salt
  • Sweet Potato Powder
  • Caramel Color
  • Modified Corn Starch
  • Sesame Paste
  • Dehydrated Garlic
  • Spices
  • Salted Chili Peppers (Chili Peppers, Salt)
  • Acetic Acid
  • Red 40

Ingredients

  • 2, 2lb. racks baby back pork ribs
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce
  • sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 scallions for garnish

Marinade

  • ½ cup Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce
  • ⅓ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 Tbsp. Lee Kum Kee Siracha Chili
  • 2 Tbsp. Panda Brand Cooking Soy Sauce
  • 1, 2″ piece of ginger, grated
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  1. Combine all marinade ingredients to marinate the ribs in a slow cooker, then cook for 6 hours on low heat. Reserve 1 cup cooking liquid after cooking.
  2. Preheat broiler and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Transfer ribs from the slow cooker onto the baking sheet. Add the reserved liquid and 1/2 cup Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce to the ketchup and mix. Brush this mixture over the ribs and broil bone side down for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove ribs and slice them between the bones as desired. Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions and serve.

Ingredients

  • 2 beets, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. Hoisin Sauce
  • ¼ tsp. garlic salt
  1. Preheat oven to 275°F. 
  2. Grease or line a baking sheet. 
  3. Wash and dry the beets, then slice into thin chips. 
  4. Place the beet chips into a bowl along with the Hoisin Sauce and toss well, then lay out on a tray. 
  5. Place into the oven on the middle rack and bake for 1 hour 40 minutes until beet chips are crispy. Half way through, flip them over. You want them to cook low and slow, as to not burn. 
  6. Take out of the oven and cool for 5 minutes. Once cooled, season with garlic salt, and serve.
