The first of it’s kind to be produced, and the second sauce in the line up, Pirate’s Lantern: Hot Bajan BBQ takes the original Pirate’s Lantern Pepper Sauce a step further by incorporating elements of BBQ. The flavor profile retains some of the savory goodness of the original as we kept the main ingredients of mustard, onions and scotch bonnet peppers found in all Bajan (Barbados) style hot sauces. Where this sauce differs is that it adds new ingredients such as golden-brown cane sugar, vine ripened tomatoes mashed to a paste, rich dark molasses and a melody of spices to sass things up. These additions gives the much needed sweet and tanginess found in barbecue sauces. The result is a noticeable increase in flavor complexity with a clean sweet taste. Hot Bajan BBQ can be enjoyed with a wide variety of meats, seafoods, vegetables, and soups among other favorites such as pizza, french fries etc.
Everyone’s favorite mustard-based hot sauce just got a grilling makeover with a dollop of sweet molasses. That added sugar will caramelize on the heat of the grill, making this sauce ideal for glazing beef brisket or marinating a tender pork loin. Zippy horseradish rounds out the flavors and keeps your taste buds guessing while the mild heat from scotch bonnets will beg you to pour on a little more.
