Trader Joe’s Organic Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce is a thick and delicious barbecue sauce. It has a decent amount of heat for a barbecue sauce and strong garlic flavor. Don’t let the hipster name with the organic label and “sriracha” type flavor fool you. It’s thick and very sweet like many other meat glaze bbq sauces out there. Great on fried chicken while it’s cooking so some of the sugar and molasses caramelizes, and serve that over rice or pasta, or try the chicken skewer recipe from TJ’s below.
Unlike Trader Joe’s sriracha sauce, the bbq actually has some kick to it. And is drastically better flavor wise. Tuong Ot Sriracha all the way for me because of the flavor and a bit more heat.

Sriracha BBQ Chicken Skewers
The formula for Trader Joe’s Organic Sriracha & Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce is simple: sriracha + BBQ Sauce… but, the genius is in the details. We combine spicy Sriracha (our very recipe of chili peppers, garlic, sugar, and vinegar), and combine it with what some might call “Memphis-style” BBQ Sauce—referring to its tomato-base, thick texture, reddish-brown color, and the taste of sweet molasses.
This marvelous marriage tastes of Sriracha and BBQ Sauce. It’s garlicky, sweet, and spicy—all at once. Try it in this simple recipe for grilled chicken skewers, or use it to enhance burgers, kabobs, beef or pork ribs, veggies, or grilled seafood.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package Boneless Chicken Breasts, cut into 2” cubes
- 1/2 cup TJ’s Organic Sriracha & Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce
- 2 tablespoons chopped Cilantro (optional garnish)
- Bamboo Skewers, soaked in water for at least 20 minutes
DIRECTIONS
Heat grill to medium-high. Thread 4 or 5 chicken pieces onto each skewer.
Grill chicken until it begins to brown, flipping often, about 5-7 minutes. During the final stages of cooking, continually baste chicken with Sriracha BBQ sauce, about 3-5 minutes. Remove from grill when internal temperature of chicken reaches 165°F. Garnish with cilantro and serve.
